Winnitron AU – Statistics after the first 2 days

If you didn’t already know (as if you didn’t) the Winnitron AU is at the Mana Bar Melbourne and will be permanently hosted there when it’s not being taken out to events such as Freeplay. Now the Saturday launch party is actually only about half over, but I thought I’d share some interesting statistics so far:

  • Over the 12 or so hours that the Mana Bar has actually been open, people have been playing games on the Winnitron AU for over 10 hours. That’s quite incredible!
  • The last 80 games played on the Winnitron arcade network have all originated from the Winnitron AU. The stats dashboard doesn’t actually show any more than the last 80, so I can’t tell the exact figure.

Disclaimer: These pi-chart statistics seem to be fluctuating wildly given how close some games are.

The current game breakdown so far actually looks like this:

Quite interestingly, Robot Sharks was coming in second yesterday, but it seems that a lot of the people attending the Saturday launch are recognising N Arcade from PC and are picking it on the Winnitron AU. That’s a bit of a shame in my opinion given that they’re missing out on the exclusive titles you can’t play anywhere else (Nidhogg was well in front after Friday night and according to the information I have, isn’t actually being played much right now).

I might have a bit of chat with the BitCollective guys to see if we can get a “Random 2 Player Game” option implemented or something to that effect. Hopefully something like that will give new players a much more diverse experience of the games offered on the Winnitron AU (my guess so far is that people are being overwhelmed by the number of games available and so they are going for the titles they already know about).

Biggest problem is there isn’t enough Winnitron to go around :D
